Concerts of the Icelandic choir "Breidarfirdingarkórinn", on 3 June 2008 in Vienna and on 6 June 2008 in Wolfsbach
The Icelandic choir "Breidfirdingakórinn" from Reykjavik conducted by Ms. Hrönn Helgadóttir will sing together with the soloist David Ólafsson on 3 June at 7 p.m. at the Vienna Peters Chuch and on 6 June at 8 p.m. at the Heurigenrestaurant Wimmer in Wolfsbach.
At the concert in Wolfsbach the choir will perform Icelandic folk choir music during the first part. The choir will be on tour in Austria at the beginning of June and will stop for some days in the region Mostviertel. The members originate from Westiceland, but are all working in the capital Reykjavik and meet weekly to sing in convivial gatherings.
The only 16 year-old Daniel Marat is a real master of the "Styrian" harmonica and has already performed in concerts together with Marc Pircher and Franz Posch. He will inspire the audience with his folk music. The Cantus Hilaris will present himself during the second part of the evening from a very different musical point of view. Female trio, mixed quartet, male choir and mixed choir will perform original Austrian folk songs and yodeler. Together with Daniel Marat they will sing songs like „ I bin a Steirerbua" or „ Hintn bei der Staodltür" etc.
The evening will be accompanied by humorous anecdotes and funny stories.
