Icelandic investment bank enters Indian market
On 27 November, Dr Tryggvi Þór Herbertsson, CEO of Askar Capital, and Mr. Nikhil Gandhi, Chairman of the SKIL Group, signed a term sheet, in the presence of Iceland´s Minister of Finance, Mr. Árni M. Mathiesen, and Dr. Gunnar Pálsson, Ambassador of Iceland to India, marking the beginning of the cooperation. The launch of Askar Capital´s activities in Mumbai coincided with the visit of an Icelandic trade delegation to India, consisting mainly of companies from the energy and financial sector.
