Three Ielandic artists to perform in Rome in September
Three Icelandic artists will perform in Rome in September. These are the composer Steingrímur Rohloff, who will perform on the 20th of September, dramatist Valgerður Þórsdóttir, who will perform on the 24th of September and the performance artists in The Icelandic Love Company who will perform on the 28th of September. All performances will take place at Circo Scandinavo per Artisti e Scienziati, Via della Lungara 231, 00165 Roma.
On the 20th of September at 17:30, the Icelandic/German composer Steingrímur Rohloff will perform. He was born in Reykjavík in 1971. He has recieved numerous awards for his compositions and they have been played the world over. More information on him can be found at his website, steingrimur-rohloff.de
On the 24th of September at 17:30, dramatist Valgerður Þórsdóttir will read excerpts from her own work. Translation into Italian will be provided. Valgerður has recieved numerous accolades for her plays. She currently resides in Reykjavík.
On the 28th of September The Icelandic Love Company will take part in a video exhibition showcasing Italian and Scandinavian video artists. The group was founded in 1996 and has taken part in various festivals and performed around the world. More information on The Icelandic Love Company can be found at its website, ilc.is. The exhibition will start at 19:30 and is expected to finish around 00:30.
