Flowers on the Roof published in Japan
This popular Icelandic children´s story written by Ingibjorg Sigurdardottir and illustrated by Brian Pilkington was published in Japan in August.
The book was published by Saela and translated by Akiko Haji.
The story is about Granny Gunn who used to live on a farm in the countryside but has to move to the city. There she meets a young boy and they become good friends. He helps her to adjust to live in the city by moving a little bit of the countryside to the city, like animals and flowers.
The Flowers on the Roof was first published in Iceland in 1985 and has been very popular ever since.
