New Minister for Foreign Affairs
A new Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir, took office today replacing Mrs. Valgerður Sverrisdóttir of Framsóknarflokkur or The Progressive Party who had held the position since June 15, 2006. Mrs. Ingibjörg Sórún Gísladóttir is the leader of Samfylkingin or The Alliance a social democratic party.
