Elections: absentee balloting opens
Embassy and consulates act as polling stations
Polling day for Iceland's parliamentary elections is set for 12 May 2007. Until that date, citizens who are away from their registered constituencies may cast their absentee ballots at any Icelandic mission overseas. This includes Permanent missions, embassies and consulates.
The Embassy of Iceland in Pretoria will be open during normal office hours for this purpose, but consulates must be contacted in advance by potential voters and an appointment made.
Those wishing to vote are advised to visit the following website for further details: www.kosning.is
